Janice Kelley
Janice
Kelley, has told the stories of people, places and events
for more than 15 years. Now, as the author of Driving
With the Top Down, a combination journal and workbook,
she helps people tell their stories. The book includes about
200 questions, statements and activities that serve as writing
prompts, to inspire creative thinking and writing, conversation,
and exploring deep into one’s soul to find the hidden
treasures.
What began as a simple list of questions, evolved into a powerful
journaling, writing and coaching tool by adding activities
and “permission” to draw, define, list, write
a poem or collect as a footer on every page.
Janice stands apart from other writers because her background
combines solid business communications experience with creative
writing flair and professional training as an oral storyteller.
She teaches writing and bookmaking workshops through Sierra
Community College.
Janice is an accomplished writer and editor of magazines and
specialty publications. Her feature articles and profiles
have been published in Comstock’s Business Magazine,
Discover Magazine, Western City and the
Sacramento Bee.
She
has led more than 60 school and community-based workshops
helping hundreds of children and adults engage their creativity
and learn to tell their own story.
